Hi, Glen!

Thanks for your letter. I can't even imagine what it must be like to be stuck up there in North Dakota, urgently needing a 26-foot sailboat. It's like you're a beautiful bird locked in a cage. Which is also beautiful.

So, I've asked around, and in an informal survey of my friends, 99% of
them said that you might be trying to pull a fast one on me. Can you believe they think that? So cynical. Apparently, there is some internet scam going around whereby unscrupulous people ask for bank account information, and then--get this--instead of putting money IN, they take money OUT! Can you believe that? Can you believe that, Glen?

So, in the end, even though you seem totally sincere, I am going to have to pass on your offer, which if you review it, does not discuss any monetary amount, nor a shipping address, nor any indication that you even know what a boat is. Do you know what a boat is, Glen? (It's something like a car, only without wheels, and it sits in the water.) Please do contact your client and tell him what I said.

Best of luck in your scams! You've really got a way with words.

Love,
Violet

P.S. God bless you, too, Glen!
