Playwrights are a girl's best friend
Arthur Miller died last night, at age 89. I came across his obituary, one of them anyway, when I was checking my e-mail. Written for Yahoo news by a guy named Joal Ryan, it starts:

"Playwrights don't marry Marilyn Monroe. Arthur Miller was the exception."
I think he's trying to say that playwrights, who we can assume fall into the dorky/bookish category, don't generally marry major sex symbols, who fall into the sexy/unavailable to dorks category.
His premise is probably correct, but in the context of Miller's body of work, is that five-year span of time back in the '60s the primary matter of interest to us?
"Arthur Miller, despite not being what you might call 'classically handsome,' bagged a hottie 40 years ago! Way to go, Artie!"
