In which I do not feel the warmth

“It's one of those days when it all goes right. Just right. The money you were waiting for arrives and a bonus has been added, the project you've been working on comes out perfectly and you get all the credit. Traffic lights turn green for you, liars come clean and apologize, the garden blooms, the sky is blue, the weather is warm and sweet. As the song goes, ‘Here comes the Sun....’ and absolutely everything is going to be all right.”

That’s an excerpt from the interpretation of the tarot card picturing The Sun, according to Aeclectic Tarot.

I pulled The Sun this morning at work when I found that the Santa hat I was required to wear at breakfast (“Put it on. It’ll help cover you up” was the actual wording of the request), anyway, where was I in this sentence… the hat did little to improve my mood. Other things that did not improve my mood: 1) Failing to win the department raffle (prize = money! Nothing says “Christmas” like an envelope full of dollar bills); 2) Failing to win the Minnesota Power Ball, valued at 171 million dollars (cash value: 93 million or so. Not too scabby!); 3) Failing to win the Great TMCP Camera—although I did win a great TMCP t-shirt, so that was nice.

Anyway, I picked The Sun as a card, and put it back (not in the mood), and drew another card. Then, ten minutes later, my boss called me into his office and handed me a CD of a band I’ve never heard of, called The Sun. So, apparently I am supposed to get the message about The Sun today. Hence, I looked it up on Aeclectic Tarot, and learned about how great today actually is supposed to be.

There must be something good scheduled for later, possibly this afternoon, because frankly, I’m not feeling The Sun. Except on my right arm, which is near the window.
